Regent to Place Lafayette, Laramie Stations in Trust

Regent has filed transfer applications with the FCC to place Oldies KARS-FM (102.9)/Laramie, WY, and its Fort Collins translator along with News/Talk KPEL-FM (105.1)/Lafayette, LA, into the Fort Collins-Lafayette Divestiture Trust. The trustee is former Clear Channel Senior VP Jay Meyers who currently serves as President/CEO of Broadcast Management & Technology.
The moves were a result of Regent's chapter 11 proceedings that will lead to a change of control from Regent to Oaktree Capital. That will put the company's groups in Fort Collins and Lafayette over-the-limits since they will lose their grandfathered status.
Meyers is also the trustee of a second Regent trust for use with its other licenses as interim step to emerge from chapter 11 bankruptcy.
