Regent Transfers Broadcast Licenses into Trust
Following Regent's emergence from chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday, the company is moving its broadcast licenses into the Regent Trust, with Broadcast Management and Technology President/CEO Jay Meyers as trustee. The move is a temporary one and the transfer was approved by the FCC earlier this month.
Additionally, the trust has entered into Local Marketing Agreements (LMA) with Regent in all of its markets. The stations will remain in trust until the FCC approves transfers of ownership to the restructured Regent -- which includes Oaktree Capital with a majority stake.
Following approval, one station in Fort Collins, CO, and one outlet in Lafayette, LA, will enter the Regent Divestiture Trust to comply with FCC current ownership limits. (04-27-10)
