GAP Broadcasting and GAP West will reportedly merge its 116 stations into Townsquare Media. Townsquare was formed under CEO Steven Price from Regent Communications when the broadcaster emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month. GAP and GAP West, like Townsquare, are controlled by Oaktree Capital Management.
If approved, GAP President George Laughlin and GAP West President Erik Hellum could remain with combined companies in senior executive positions. The companies will own 170 stations in 36 markets.
