University of South Florida Buys WSMR-FM/Sarasota


University of South Florida, headed by Dr. Judy Genshaft, has agreed to acquire Christian WSMR-FM (89.1)/Sarasota, FL, for $1.2 million from Northwestern College Radio Network, headed by Dr. Alan Cureton. Sarasota is ranked #73 by Arbitron and the station is 50,000 watts and 463 feet HAAT. Greg Guy of Patrick Communications brokered the deal for the seller and Public Radio Capital brokered the transaction for the buyer.
