Salem Q2 Revs Climb 5.2%, Loss Swings to Profit

Christian radio broadcaster Salem Communications posted a 5.2% second quarter revenue boost to $53.1 million from $50.5 million in 2009. Operating income (OI) grew to $10.1 million from a loss of $6.5 million. The company reported earnings of $700,000 (3 cents per share) as compared to a loss of $5 million (21 cents) in 2009.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, Salem is projecting total revenue to increase 1-3% over third quarter 2009 total revenue of $49.2 million.
