Media Monitors has released the advertising totals for political advertising on the radio, broadcast TV and local cable outlets that the monitoring firm tracks. Number one on the list is "Public Notice - Bankrupting America" from the political action group started by Gretchen Hamel that runs a web site called BankruptingAmerica.org.
Taking the number two slot is Meg Whitman for governor of California. Coming in at number three is the NAB's campaign against local performance royalties for free airplay followed by Rick Scott for governor and API, which is against new energy taxes.
Media Monitors says it will follow all of the major races for U.S. senate, state governorships and the political action committees and organizations buying advertising in this category.
