MPR Closes on Buys of KZIO-FM/Duluth-Superior

Minnesota Public Media has closed on its previously announced acquisition of 50kW Active Rock KZIO-FM (104.3)/Two Harbors, MN (serving Duluth-Superior) from Red Rock Radio Corp. Red Rock Radio Corp. is a Minnesota-based company headed by Kathy Lau and Shawn Skramstad. It also owns three radio stations in Minnesota, and has applications filed to sell its remaining stations in the market, including KTRB-AM, KQDS-AM and WWAX-FM.
Minnesota Public Media, a regional operation of American Public Media Group, is a Minnesota-based company headed by Jon McTaggart. MPR also owns over forty radio stations serving the state of Minnesota and surrounding areas.
