KMVN (Exitos 93.9)/L.A. Changes Calls to KXOS-FM
RADIO ONLINE | , , |
Spanish Contemporary KMVN-FM/Los Angeles changes calls to KXOS-FM in what GM Barrett Alley said was a move to better reflect the station's moniker of "Exitos 93.9." The station dropped Rhythmic AC and its MOViN' identity when Mexico City-based Grupo Radio Centro inked a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) with Emmis Radio.
When struck back in April, the LMA calls for $7 million a year, with a $14 million upfront payment covering the first two years. GRC also has an option to acquire the Emmis outlet at anytime during the seven-year contract.
Alley added, "We were looking for new call letters that reflect the personality of the station, so when we discovered that the letters KXOS were available, we applied to the FCC right away."
