Former KLLI/Dallas Afternooner Martin Gets Probation
RADIO ONLINE | , , |
Former KLLI-FM/Dallas afternoon talk host Russ Martin will receive two years probation for allegedly assaulting his then-fiancee in their suburban Dallas home. Martin, a 26-year market vet, was arrested in July, 2008, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury. He pleaded no contest and agreed to a plea deal which also includes a $1000 fine.
The identified woman, 27, who says she was engaged to Martin, told police that he became enraged after he learned she had failed to follow up with an IRS agent regarding a package delivery. Under the plea arrangement, Martin will take battering intervention counseling and is ordered to no "harmful or injurious contact" with the woman.
