Clear Channel Radio's Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) that, for the very first time, RDS-TMC navigational service is now live in Mexico City. CCTTN worked with Grupo Acir to launch the service to provide customers with up to the minute traffic data on their Mexico enabled devices.
"We were the first company to broadcast traffic information and now we are the first to offer navigational service in Mexico City," said CCTTN Senior VP/Lance Locher. "This is just another stepping stone in CCTTN's global expansion. Mexico is an important market and we plan to roll out RDS-TMC navigational service in additional cities throughout the country in the coming months."
In April 2004, Clear Channel Radio launched Mexico City's first full service traffic network, Radio Tráfico Total, delivering daily traffic and weather forecasts to millions of commuters across all Mexico City stations. In 2006, Radio Tráfico Total added eight more Mexican markets to its service.
Grupo Acir owns 110 stations in over 41 markets. They have a presence in nine out of the ten top markets in Mexico, including seven stations in the world's largest city, Mexico City.
