Phone scam artists in New Orleans are targeting listeners of Clear Channel's Urban WQUE-FM (Q93) and Urban AC WYLD-FM. Those pretending to be air personalities from Q93 offering concert tickets. Another is impersonating WYLD personality Adrian Long, who says someone's been using her name to get free chicken dinners.
The scammers have cheated listeners anywhere from $25 to $250 for access to concerts and other events around town. Others have told listeners that they'll will get your song played on the radio, allowing you to submit your CD for a particular price.
Clear Channel Radio says it's a hoax and listeners should abide by the old saying if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
