Alpha Taps Marty Hadfield as Director of Engineering

Alpha Broadcasting taps Marty Hadfield as Corporate Engineer as well as Director of Engineering for its Portland, OR, cluster, effective December 15. In this new role, he will oversee the broadcast engineers, remote team, as well as the transmitter sites and the project to co-locate six stations into one facility.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Hadfield began his broadcast engineering career in 1976 at KIXI as Chief Engineer of the AM/FM combos in Seattle and the Tri-Cities, WA. From there he became the Corporate Director of Engineering for SRO Broadcasting before moving over to Fisher Broadcasting in Seattle where he was a TV/Radio Special Projects Engineer. Hadfield then joined Entercom where he spent 17 years as VP/Engineering.

"Given the number of high priority projects ahead of us, I can think of no better person to lead the charge than Marty," commented Alpha President/COO Bob Proffitt. "His technical knowledge and expertise are unmatched and his leadership skills are exactly what we need to take us to the next level on the technical front."

"I am very pleased to have been selected by Alpha Broadcasting's Larry Wilson and Bob Proffitt to lead their Portland Engineering Department," said Hadfield. "Among the many projects ahead, the consolidation of legendary and new formats in Portland Radio into a new, high tech facility is an exciting challenge."
