Howard Stern confirmed on his radio show Monday that he is indeed talking to the producers on "American Idol" to replace Simon Cowell. An insider told the New York Post's Page Six last week that "American Idol" producers would like to hire Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell and that the shock jock is their "top choice." Cowell is leaving "American Idol" at the end of this season.
Stern's current Sirius XM deal is worth $100 million per year and expires at the end of 2010. Cowell was paid $50 million a year.
