Pandora appoints George Lynch as VP/Automotive Business Development, a newly created position. He joins the Internet radio firm from Sirius XM, where he spent over 11 years working with automotive manufacturers as VP/Automotive partnerships since 2004. At Pandora he will work with auto companies as Pandora is shifting its focus to placing its product into vehicles.
Senior VP Jessica Steel commented, "Delivering Pandora's personalized internet radio to our 48 million listeners in their vehicles is a key focus of our company this year, and we think we have got the best person on board to help Pandora cement our presence in the automotive arena."
Pandora estimates that nearly 50% of its product listening comes via smartphone devices while traveling in the car. The company also announced a partnership with Ford recently to add the service to their "Sync" hands-free car communications system.
