ESPN Deportes Radio Expands in Houston to KGOL
Spanish-language sports network ESPN Deportes Radio has launched on Texas Radio Holdings' KGOL-AM (1180)/Houston. The network currently reaches 50% of the Hispanic population in the U.S. With the network's expansion into Houston, ESPN Deportes Radio now reaches nine of the top 15 Hispanic markets with a variety of sports/talk programming and events.
"The new KGOL AM 1180 in Houston is a great achievement for our ESPN Deportes Radio platform," said ESPN Radio Affiliate Sales Executive Director Jim Roberts. "Houston is one of our top markets, where Hispanics comprise more than 32% of the city's population. We are thrilled to become their destination for the best world class play by play content and the latest sports news & information in Spanish-language."
"At Texas Radio Holdings, we are very excited to bring the first Spanish-language sports radio network to Houston'," said GM Rick Cruz-Aedo. "This launch offers our local community the latest in sports news and information, and provides advertisers and marketers a unique opportunity to reach local Hispanics sports fans."
Texas Radio Holdings is currently operating KGOL under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) with Entravision Communications. (08-16-10)
