KEZW-AM (Studio 1430)/Denver has launched the online sale of an 8G iPod Nano pre-loaded with live big band recordings that were never sold in stores or played on American radio. "Sing and Swing Volume 1" is a collection of 100 songs taken from various Armed Forces radio programs and V-Discs that aired exclusively for the troops overseas during WWII.
"As America's #1 big band station, we feel strongly about introducing new generations to the great songs of the era. We are so proud to be sponsors of this very special IPod collection," said KEZW PD Rick Crandall.
The unique collection of big band songs boasts artists such as Miller, Sinatra, Dorsey, Goodman and other incredible talent from that era. The compilation was produced by the Glenn Miller Archive at the University of Colorado.
"The Glenn Miller Archive and I are very pleased to join with Entercom Denver in presenting this special collection. Not only does it benefit the American Music Research Center at the University of Colorado, but also fans of big band music who have never heard these songs," said Dennis Spragg, producer of the collection.
