Citadel appoints Tom O'Brien as General Manager of News/Talk WJR-AM Detroit, reporting to the Midwest President Matt Hanlon. He replaces Mike Fezzey, who left in early January. O'Brien had served as Director of Sales since joining the station in 2004. Previously he was Station Manager at crosstown New WWJ-AM for 14 years.
Citadel Midwest President Matt Hanlon commented, "WJR is one of the finest radio stations in the history of broadcasting. This station requires someone with experience, relationships and credibility to lead us day to day. Tom is uniquely qualified to take on this opportunity."
"It is truly a privilege to manage this legendary radio station," added O'Brien. "We will continue to focus on relevant content, serving our listeners, the community, our employees and advertisers."
