Joyner Made Dallas/Chicago Round-Trip for Oprah

Tom Joyner, who established himself as The Fly Jock, doing his morning show in Dallas and then flying to Chicago to do his afternoon show for seven years and 8 million miles, literally re-created the experience on Tuesday. The trip was made in honor of Oprah Winfrey who inspired him to purchase his radio show and syndicate it himself.

After doing the syndicated "Tom Joyner Morning Show" from 6-10am, from his Dallas studios, Joyner flew to Chicago to be at the taping of "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular" show at Chicago's United Center, Tuesday evening. Immediately after the taping, Joyner flew back to Dallas to be ready to do his Wednesday morning show.

Unlike the late 80s and early 90s, when only two markets could follow his exploits, over 8 million listeners in more than 105 markets tuned in to hear Tom share his first-hand experience fly jocking again, this time with co-host Sybil Wilkes along for the ride, to honor Winfrey with all the other celebs that filled the United Center in Chicago last night.
