The former owner of three Scranton, Pennsylvania radio stations (WWDL-FM, WICK-AM and WYCK-AM), Doug Lane, has made a plea deal in his child sex abuse case. Lane was charged with molesting several teenage boys after befriending them and offering them jobs working at his radio stations. He also gave them alcohol.
In a deal worked out with prosecutors, Lane entered guilty plea and Judge Michael Barrasse shaved six years off the minimum sentence and 14 years off the maximum, resulting in a sentence of eight to 16 years, rather than 14 to 30 years. At his trial, Lane had entered an innocent plea and was convicted on two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and six counts of possession of child pornography.
