Tom Leykis Says There's No Going Back to Radio

After seven months of "The Tom Leykis Show" streaming on the Internet, Leykis says there is no turning back for him when it comes doing to his show on the web. "It's just clear from the sheer tonnage of listeners we now have that there is no need to return to radio," said Leykis. Prior to his April debut on the Internet, he had been off the air for three years while waiting for a CBS contract to expire.

During the month of October according to Triton Digital's Webcast Metrics, 157,224 people sampled "The Tom Leykis Show." Leykis proudly boasted, "It great to have accreditation for what we are doing. Everyone else who does a show on the net brags about having hundreds of thousands of listeners, but they never put their money where their mouth is. In fact, we have more monthly cumulative listeners than six Los Angeles/Orange County terrestrial radio stations on a 24/7 basis."

Leykis is broadcast live weekdays from 3-7pm PT and can be heard on a 24/7 streamed replay as well as through all the major media players: TuneIn, Windows Media Player, iTunes, iPhone, Winamp and Shoutcast. And on Shoutcast, The Tom Leykis Show has been ranked the sixth most listened-to Internet stream in the world.

Leykis goes on to state, "Not only is it satisfying to state there our show is a success by the number of people listening, but we are also making a profit. I want everyone to know that I'm not rooting for the demise of radio. On the contrary, most of my friends still work in radio. It's just clear from the sheer tonnage of listeners we now have that there is no need to return to radio."
