WTMJ-AM and WKTI-FM/Milwaukee General Manager Tom Langmyer was awarded the "General Manager of the Year Award" at the 2015 Radio Show in Atlanta. Both of the stations are part of The E.W. Scripps Company. The annual Radio Wayne Awards, announced during the industry event in Atlanta honored the best in the radio industry for leadership, dedication, creativity and commitment to quality.

"Tom exemplifies what we value most in our leaders -- vision, integrity and hard work," said Scripps VP/Radio Steve Wexler. "I am proud of Tom and our Milwaukee radio team and grateful for his partnership as we build a bold and exciting future for radio at Scripps. Tom is building a culture where local talent can shine and impact our community in meaningful ways."

"This is such a tremendous honor for our whole team," said Langmyer. "Scripps is doing terrific things as we continue to grow as a leader in local content and advertiser results. When you work for a company that believes in people - and in doing good in the communities we serve, the road ahead is clear. I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to be in a leadership role at Scripps - and to have such a tremendous team to lead in Milwaukee."

The awards are named in honor of "Radio Wayne" Cornils, who set a high example for professionalism in radio. A successful small-market radio broadcaster, Cornils also served as Executive VP of the Radio Advertising Bureau and Senior VP/Radio at the National Association of Broadcasters.
