Podtrac has released its weekly tracking data of podcasts for the week of January 17-23 showing downloads were down 1% over the previous week and up 28% over the corresponding period last year for Podtrac measured shows. The Religion & Spirituality category showed the strongest week-over-week growth rising 11%. Arts showed the weakest week-over-week growth falling 7%. The category with strongest growth year-over-year was Sports at climbing 120%.

Download growth for the 52-week period from January 18, 2021 to January 23, 2022 was up 28% across all Podtrac measured podcasts. Week-over-week download growth for the week of January 17, 2022 to January 23, 2022 was down 1% across all Podtrac measured podcasts.

Download growth for the 52-week period from January 18, 2021 to January 23, 2022 was -9% for Arts, +25% for Business, +50% for Comedy, +5% for History, +9% for News, +77% for Religion & Spirituality, +47% for Science, +21% for Society & Culture, +120% for Sports, and +28% for True Crime.
