Connoisseur Media has completed its acquisition of Alpha Media, a deal approved by the FCC on August 13. The transaction adds Alpha's 205 radio stations to Connoisseur's existing Connecticut and Long Island holdings, expanding the company's portfolio to 216 stations in 47 markets nationwide. With the deal finalized, Connoisseur now reaches an estimated 20% of the U.S. radio audience, placing it among the country's ten largest radio broadcasters by both station count and revenue.

The acquisition brings Connoisseur into several major markets, including San Antonio, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Palm Springs, and Louisville, while strengthening its heritage operations in Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut and Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, NY.

"Local broadcasting has always been at the heart of what we do," said Connoisseur Media CEO Jeff Warshaw. "Connoisseur started as a company rooted in radio serving local markets. Today we're taking that same local-focused philosophy, which now includes our digital marketing and multi-platform expertise to some of the most dynamic markets in the country. This acquisition is about assembling the scale and resources to keep radio strong, serve our communities, empower our employees, and create even more value for advertisers."

Warshaw added that his recent visits with Alpha Media employees across the country left him "impressed with their dedication to radio and their communities," and said he looks forward to working alongside them.

Guggenheim Securities served as financial advisor to Connoisseur, with legal counsel provided by Winston & Strawn, Wiley Rein, McDermott Will & Shulte, and Wilkinson Barker Knauer. Financing for the acquisition was secured through Brigade Capital Management and Sienna Lending.
