Ohana Media Group has promoted Cat Okegawa to Vice President and General Manager of its Alaska operations, effective September 1. Okegawa will oversee the company's six-station cluster, including KBYR-AM (700), KBBO-FM (92.9), KFAT-FM (92.9), KXLW-FM (96.3), KMBQ-FM (99.7) and KRAK-FM (102.1).
In her new role, Okegawa will oversee day-to-day operations and strategic direction while continuing to provide direct leadership to the company's sales division. She will work to align programming, operations, community engagement and revenue strategy across the group.
Okegawa joined Ohana Media Group as an Account Executive in 2024 and was subsequently promoted to Local Sales Manager. She will report to company President and CEO Scott Lindahl.
"We couldn't be more excited to be promoting Cat to her new role as Vice President and General Manager of our Alaska operation," said Lindahl. "Cat has consistently demonstrated the leadership, judgment and commitment to local broadcasting that defines Ohana Media Group."
Lindahl credited Okegawa with developing strong client relationships, earning the respect of employees and delivering results while strengthening the company's connections with the communities it serves.
"I am incredibly honored to take the helm of Ohana Media Group Alaska during such a dynamic time for broadcast media," said Okegawa. "By bridging gaps and breaking down departmental silos, we can better align our teams, maximize our resources, and build on the strengths of our staff."
She said the cluster's focus will remain "fiercely local, live, and results driven."
