RADIO ONLINE | Friday, August 5, 2022 |
WVEE-FM (V-103) Atlanta ups 30-year veteran radio personality Greg Street to the station's afternoon slot, weekdays from 3-7pm ET. Midday host Ramona DeBreaux will extend her show until 3pm and Lil Bankhead will succeed Street in the station's 6-8pm ET time slot. All moves are effective August 8. Street joined V-103 in June, 1995. From 2003 to 2005, he split his time between V-103 and K-104 in Dallas, before returning to V-103 full time in 2005. Previous on-air roles include KMJQ-FM in Houston, WBLX-FM in Mobile and WORV-WJMG in Hattiesburg, MS.
"Greg Street has been one of Atlanta's and this country's most influential radio personalities and has entertained, engaged and inspired an entire generation," said Audacy Atlanta Senior Vice President and Market Manager Rick Caffey. "We are excited to feature Greg more prominently in a primetime weekday daypart."
"Here we go... the ride home will never be the same," added Street. "I'll be rocking at 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock. It's time for Greg Street to rock on V-103."
In 2018, Audacy Atlanta renamed its market-wide community service award after Street in honor of his work in the local community. In 2006, Street started "We Need 2 Read," a reading initiative for school-aged children that rewards kids who have improved reading scores in local schools with cash, toys and video games.
