Danny Parkins announced today that his final day on Sports WSCR-AM (670 The Score) in Chicago will be Friday, following a 24-hour 'Cubs for a Cure' radiothon aimed at raising $1 million for cancer research. His last "Parkins & Spiegel" show airs Wednesday, with the radiothon scheduled for Thursday and Friday, supporting BrainUp and Stand Up To Cancer.
During a transition segment with Dan Bernstein and Laurence Holmes, Parkins acknowledged his departure from The Score but did not confirm reports of a move to FS1. He expressed deep emotion about leaving, stating that this new opportunity is life-changing for him and his family.
"This has been my dream job for 20 years," said Parkins, reflecting on his time at The Score since 2017. "I never thought this was possible, but it's happening, and I'm incredibly excited."
An internal memo from Mitch Rosen, VP for The Score and BetQL Network, hinted that Parkins has accepted a TV job outside the Chicago market.
