Jenny Matthews, a longtime fixture in Kansas City radio, announced her departure from KBEQ (Q104) on February 6 via social media. Having joined the New Hit Country outlet in 2019 after a 16-year stint at co-owned KMXV (Mix 93.3), her exit follows the recent departures of her former co-hosts, including Todd Nixon in December, 2024.
Matthews revealed that she had been offered a solo opportunity with "The Jenny Matthews Show" but ultimately decided against continuing in the role, stating, "it just didn't feel right." She cited personal reasons for her departure, including her father's illness and a desire to spend more time with her family, emphasizing her commitment to her two children.
"I honestly don't know what is next for me, but I'm going to be 50 this year! I've got some stuff left to do. Only God knows what those things are. So, I'm trusting Him more than I ever have in my life," Matthews shared.
According to KCTV 5, Matthews has no plans to leave Kansas City and encourages her fans and friends to stay connected with her through social media.
