Kyle Matthews, Brand Manager at KAWO (WOW Country 104.3) in Boise, IA is leaving the station to join Country KBEQ (Q104) in Kansas City. At Q104, Matthews will take on the role of Music Director and will also host an on-air shift, though specific details about his slot have yet to be announced.
His arrival comes as the station fills vacancies left by the recent departures of morning host Jenny Matthews and former Program Director and morning co-host Todd Nixon.
Matthews brings a wealth of experience to Q104, having previously worked at KFGE (Froggy 98), as well as K-FROG KFRG in Riverside-San Bernardino. His career also includes two separate stints at KFGE in Lincoln, NE.
Matthews originally joined the then Entercom-owned KFRG-FM (K-FROG) in Riverside in 2018, hosting early afternoons from 12-3pm on the station while also overseeing imaging. A Southern California native, he returned to his home state after spending two years with NRG Media in Lincoln, NE.
There is no word yet on who will replace Matthews at WOW Country 104.3 in Boise.
