Asheville Media Group unveils a new morning show, "Despierta Con Omar" (Wake Up With Omar), airing live on Spanish Hits W247BV (La Pantera 97.3) in Asheville, NC. Broadcasting weekdays from 6-10am, the show debuted Monday. Led by PD Omar Mayorga, an 18-year veteran broadcaster from Venezuela, the show aims to foster strong community connections.

"I'm thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture," Mayorga shared. "Having been born and raised in a community similar to Asheville, I look forward to bringing my passion for radio and community engagement to La Pantera 97.3."

Launched in 2024, La Pantera 97.3 is Asheville's first Spanish-language radio outlet, offering a culturally rich mix of content around the clock. Mayorga views the station as more than just a broadcast outlet; he sees it as a platform to celebrate culture, connect people, and promote local enterprises. "Our show is about connecting with our roots, families, and each other," he added.
