iHeartMedia's KFBK NewsRadio in Sacramento reveals a new programming lineup set to take effect on June 2, ushering in significant changes with shifts in show hosts and times. Sam Shane (pictured), a mainstay on The KFBK Morning News, will transition from his role as co-host to spearhead his own show. Shane's new program, airing from 12-3pm, follows Tom Sullivan's move to semi-retirement after his three-decade tenure at KFBK.

Shane expressed his enthusiasm about the new role, stating, "I'm humbled and honored to be taking over the time slot occupied by Tom Sullivan at KFBK, a radio station with a rich history of producing superior news/talk programs. Never have I enjoyed producing and delivering a program more than these last six years as I have co-hosted the morning news show on KFBK with Cristina Mendonsa. I'm very proud of our accomplishments and grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Cristina and everyone behind the scenes who made it happen. Now it's on to a new chapter."

Meanwhile, Cristina Mendonsa will continue to anchor "The KFBK Morning News" from 5-9am weekdays, where she aims to maintain the show's focus on local news, providing balanced coverage and in-depth reports. Mendonsa commented on her ongoing commitment to the show, "This next chapter is about helping listeners wake up to what really matters, stories that affect their lives. After 30 years in journalism and a multi-generational connection to Northern California, our goal is to bring listeners smart, relevant news with a balanced perspective, cutting through the noise to bring more insight."

Joining Mendonsa in the mornings will be Mark Demsky, transitioning from his previous role as a sports anchor at KTXL (FOX 40). Demsky's background in sports broadcasting and investigative journalism is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the morning news segment.
