Audacy's Country WDAF-FM (106.5 The Wolf) in Kansas City will debut Jenny & Jagger in the Morning on Tuesday, September 9. The new show will pair former KBEQ (Q104) morning co-host Jenny Matthews with Mike "Jagger" Thomas, who has most recently been heard in afternoons on Hot AC KZPT (99.7 The Point), while handing fill-ins at stations in Houston and St. Louis.
The move follows the recent departure of former morning team Zeke Montana and Codie Allen, along with afternoon host Jeff "Shotgun" Jaxon.
Matthews, who left Q104 in February to care for her father, reflected on her return to radio in a social media post. "Six months ago, I quit my job without any sort of plan in place. All I knew is that my dad was sick and I needed to be with him," she wrote. "I didn't know if I'd ever get back on the air. Radio is my passion. Big. Radio. Nerd. When my old friend JR Ammons from Audacy called, one conversation led to the next and here we are. I'm beyond excited, proud, and grateful for this new adventure."
She added that the show's mission is simple: "Our goal is to make radio fun again... to give you a smile on your way to work or school, keep you up on all the latest Nashville news and pop culture, and bring games, prizes, laughter-and probably some tears. But most of all: heart, authenticity, and friendship. That's a promise."
