Hot AC WWBX (Mix 104.1) has named Kira Lew as its new midday host, filling the slot vacated by Erin O'Malley following Audacy's March layoffs. Lew returns to Boston radio after departing mornings at Townsquare Media Country WOKQ in Portsmouth, NH in July to relocate for her husband's work. She spent nine years on WOKQ's morning show, teaming at various points with Bill Fox, Chio Acosta and most recently Logan Sherwood.
Lew's resume also includes a stint at Townsquare AC 94.9 WHOM/Portland, ME. She began her career in Boston radio as the "Director of First Impressions" at then-CBS Radio Boston.
"Everyday I watched some of the greatest radio personalities walk through these doors, headphones in hand, ready to entertain and inform the fine people of Boston. This week, I got to be the one behind the mic," Lew said. "It's hard to articulate what this opportunity means to me. Thank you to Mike Mullaney and Steve Salhany for believing that there is space for my preggo a** at this winning station. I am having the most fun and still can't believe I get to do this."
