After more than four decades behind the microphone, veteran broadcaster Chuck Reeves has announced his retirement, capping a 41-year career that began in June, 1984. Reeves' radio journey has taken him across the country, with stops at KNOT in Prescott, AZ; KTAR in Phoenix, AZ; KRLT/KOWL in South Lake Tahoe, CA; KBUL and KURK in Reno, NV; KSAM/KHVL in Huntsville, TX; KQBL in Boise, ID; KTFW in Fort Worth, TX; and most recently WAKY in Louisville, KY.
"Man, what a ride," Reeves reflected. "I can't begin to tell you how much fun this has been. The friends that I've made, the changes that I've witnessed through the decades and the memories that I take with me-well, let's just say that I've been beyond blessed and extremely fortunate."
Reeves and his wife, Debbie, will be returning to Texas, where he plans to enjoy retirement with long motorcycle trips and plenty of golf. His final day on air at WAKY Louisville will be December 31.
