Triton Digital is expanding the capabilities of Omny Studio with a major update that brings full support for video podcasting, allowing publishers to create, manage, distribute and monetize both audio and video from a single platform.

The upgrade integrates video into Omny's existing publishing, analytics and monetization tools, giving creators and media companies a streamlined way to reach audiences who increasingly consume podcasts across multiple formats.

"Podcasting has always been rooted in audio... but video has become a really powerful way for people to discover new content," said Triton Digital President and CEO John Rosso. "By bringing video into Omny Studio's world-leading podcast platform, we are giving publishers a chance to grow their reach, build stronger connections with their audiences, and open up new revenue opportunities."

The enhanced platform includes:

  • Seamless video integration, enabling publishers to upload and distribute video alongside audio in the same workflow.

  • Open distribution support, leveraging RSS for delivery to compatible podcast players and maintaining podcasting's open ecosystem.

  • Flexible monetization tools, allowing publishers to use existing analytics and insert audio ads into video episodes.

Rachel Corbett, Network Director at NOVA Podcasts, said the addition of video tools arrives as audience behavior continues to shift. "NOVA is excited to be partnering with Omny to trial this new technology and explore a video solution that complements the commercial models that keep our shows sustainable," she noted.

Triton says the update sets the stage for future support of HLS delivery in publisher apps, further advancing video podcast distribution in open environments.
