Ryan Chase Departs KRBE's Morning Show After Two Decades

Longtime Houston radio personality Ryan Chase is no longer part of "The Roula and Ryan Show with Eric" on 104.1 KRBE, marking the end of nearly 20 years with the station. The news was first reported by Houston media journalist Mike McGuff, who noted that Chase's bio page and references to him on KRBE's website and social platforms were removed late last week.

On Monday morning's broadcast, co-hosts Roula Christie and Eric Rowe briefly acknowledged Chase's departure but said they "couldn't comment on personnel matters." Rowe added, "I'm proud of every show we've done together in all our 23 years as a team." The show's branding was recently updated to "The Roula Show with Eric ft. Special K & Sam," though the updated page was later taken down.

Chase's career began at K-Fox 95.5 in Lufkin, TX, while he attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He later worked at KHMX (Mix 96.5) Houston, then 104.1 KRBE as an air talent before moving to WXRK (92.3 K-Rock) New York in the late 1990s, during Howard Stern's tenure. In 1998, he left New York for 94.5 The Edge in Dallas-Fort Worth, co-hosting "Jagger, Ryan and Michelle."

In 2003, Chase returned to Mix 96.5 and reunited with Christie and producer Eric Rowe on "The Roula and Ryan Show." The trio moved to KRBE in 2006, taking over mornings from Atom Smasher and Maria Todd. Over two decades, the show became one of Houston's most recognized morning franchises, and Christie was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2022.
