Michael Shawn Returns to WRNB Philadelphia

Urban One has announced that comedian and radio personality Michael Shawn will return to Radio One Philadelphia's WRNB 100.3, beginning Saturday, April 4. He'll host a new weekend program airing Saturdays from 3-6pm and Sundays from 4-7pm, marking his return to the Philadelphia airwaves where he first built his radio career.

From 2000 to 2008, Shawn hosted the evening "Takeover Legends Night Show" on 100.3 "The Beat," becoming a familiar voice in the market. Since then, he has worked in Dallas and New York across both traditional and internet radio, while also developing a career as a stand-up comedian and motivational speaker focused on addiction recovery.

In a statement, Shawn said returning to Philadelphia is a meaningful milestone, calling it "the city that created my radio career," and expressing enthusiasm about reconnecting with listeners across the region.

Sean Sams, Vice President and General Manager of Radio One Philadelphia, described Shawn's return as nostalgic, noting his ability to connect with audiences and create a distinctive on-air experience. Sams added that Shawn's style helped define an era of local radio and said the station is excited to welcome him back to WRNB.
