Virtual News Center Adds WNPC as Affiliate

Virtual News Center has added WNPC-FM (92.3) Newport, TN to its affiliate network, providing locally focused newscasts for the Bristol Broadcasting Company outlet. Peter Kileen and JPbZet are anchoring daily newscasts for WNPC, as the station expands its use of outside news production to provide local news and community information.

"WNPC is part of Bristol Broadcasting, and we have been providing news for their Charleston, West Virginia stations for years," said Virtual News Center CEO Joel Dearing. "When WNPC's news needs changed, we were happy they thought of us as a solution for local news."

The arrangement allows WNPC to provide professionally produced local newscasts without maintaining a full-time newsroom staff.

"At 92.3 WNPC, local news is an important part of our commitment to the community," said Bristol Broadcasting's Louanna Ottinger. "Using Virtual News Center has allowed us to provide our listeners with professional, timely local news coverage while giving our station the resources we need without the expense of maintaining a full-time newsroom staff."

Ottinger added that Virtual News Center's team understands the importance of local content and produces newscasts tailored to WNPC and its market.
