WLAV Adds 'Dave & Chuck the Freak' to Mornings

Dave & Chuck The Freak

Cumulus Media's Classic Rock WLAV-FM (97 LAV) in Grand Rapids, MI, has added "Dave & Chuck the Freak" to its morning lineup. The Detroit-based syndicated program will air weekdays from 6-10:30am.

Originating at Beasley Media Group's WRIF-FM in Detroit and distributed by Key Networks, the show features Dave Hunter, Chuck Urquhart and Lisa Way. Its content combines irreverent humor with unusual news, pop culture and relationships.

The addition follows changes to WLAV's local lineup. Former morning co-host Michelle McKormick exited in August and now hosts mornings on iHeartMedia's Classic Hits WBFX (Big 101.3) in Grand Rapids and Classic Rock WMRR (Rock 101.7) in Muskegon Heights.

Her former co-host, Travis Gibbs, moves to afternoons, filling the opening created by Jordan Lass' August departure.

"Dave & Chuck the Freak" debuted on 89X in Windsor, Ontario, across the border from Detroit, in 2001. The program moved to WRIF in 2013, where it continues to originate.
