The Call for Entry for the 29th Radio Mercury Awards has officially opened. For 2020, the awards has added several new prize categories, including the Multicultural Radio Spot Campaign. The prize is meant for specific non-general, market consumer segments, including, but not limited to, Hispanic, African-American, LGBTQ+, Asian and People with Disabilities. In addition, there will also be one additional prize each for the Radio Commercial, Radio Campaign and Station-Produced Radio Commercial categories.
In collaboration with the Radio Mercury Awards, Chief Judge Robin Fitzgerald and BBDO Atlanta launched the "Radio Makes the Best Stories" for the Call for Entry campaign on Tuesday. The social campaign is a series of audio stories from creatives sharing some of their most memorable behind-the-scenes career experiences.
Finalists will be announced in early May. Winners will be announced at the 2020 Radio Mercury Awards event on June 4, 2020 at Sony Hall in New York City.
