NRG Media/Omaha Shows Support for Healthcare Workers

NRG Media/Omaha is teaming with the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine to rally the Omaha community and show support for the health care workers in Omaha and around the state. Beginning in early April, NRG Media, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine started asking everyone to start wearing "RED" on Friday in support of the health care workers. All seven NRG Omaha stations are participating in the campaign through promos, liners and utilizing all forms of social media. Additionally, the NRG Media staff filmed a wear red on Friday's video https://youtu.be/xWPSXBp1k4I.

General Manager Mark Shecterle stated, "This was a no brainer. Once I received the call from UNMC asking for our support for their employees and all health care workers I immediately said yes. These incredible individuals are putting their life on the line to save us. It is the least we could do, and I could not be more proud of how my team has rallied around this cause. It's incredible."

Paul Aylward, MD, UNMC House Officers Association commented, "The support of NRG Media has been phenomenal, truly exceeding our expectations. They have become an integral part of achieving our goal of reaching the entire community. Seeing the red every week means so much to all of our frontline health care workers. We can feel the support each time someone posts a picture."
