Sad to report the death of Entercom/Charlotte Director of Operations and WLNK Program Director Darrin Arriens who passed away today after a lengthy battle with complications stemming from a COVID-19 infection.
Arriens, a 30-year radio veteran, had worked for over 20 years with current SVP/MM Matt Hanlon and had also programmed 93.7 Kiss Country/Fresno, Hot AC WGYL/West Palm Beach, KKMG and KKFM/Colorado Springs among many others in multiple formats.
He was also Program Director of WLAV/Grand Rapids when that station won the Marconi Award in 2008 for Medium Market Station of the Year.
Arriens was highly regarded in the industry and his passing marks a tremendous loss for Entercom, the Charlotte market and the industry as a whole. Radio Online would like to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Arriens family.
