Radio One Richmond Launches Classic Hip-Hop The Box

Radio One Richmond, VA, launches "RVA's New Home for Classic Hip Hop" on WXGI-AM (950), W258DC (99.5), WTPS-AM (1240) and W274BX (102.7) as "99.5/102.7 the Box." The Box will super-serve the entire Richmond and Tri-Cities and will feature music from legendary Virginia artists such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Pharrell and other hip hop legends.
"Hip Hop has been one of the most influential genres in music and it has shaped culture," said Radio One/Richmond Operations Manager Mathew Myers. "This station will highlight its beginning, its roots, and the artists who made it what it is today. We are very excited to bring 99.5 & 102.7 The BOX to Central Virginia."
