96-7 KCAL/Riverside has named John DeSantis to the position of station promotions director. DeSantis spent many years as program director and on-air personality at KCXX-FM, and then at KHTI-FM. Most recently, he has been doing weekend/fill-in shifts at KCAL. Cristina Herrera, who has been handling the Promotions Coordinator position since the beginning of the year, will continue in her role.

"I couldn't be more excited about this amazing opportunity," said DeSantis. "KCAL has such a legendary rock heritage, and being a part of this team is a dream come true. Thanks to GM Jeff Parke and PD Daryl Norsell for giving me this shot."

"After many years competing against John I'm incredibly excited to have him on our team," said KCAL Program Director and afternoon host, Daryl Norsell. "Brainstorming sessions are going to be fun. In what has been a really challenging year, I can't say enough about what an outstanding job Cristina did flying solo. Those two together are going to be a force to be reckoned with!"
