WQMX/Akron Promotes Cherise Richards to Music Director

Rubber City Radio Country WQMX-FM/Akron, OH taps night host Cherise Richards to fill its vacant Music Director post. A Northeast Ohio native, Richards has served in radio in Cleveland and Akron since 2006 as an air personality, traffic reporter and promotions. She joined the local cluster in 2013 as a weekend and fill-in air talent at WQMX and co-owned WONE, then providing traffic updates, before being promoted to evenings in 2015.

"Cherise is passionate about Country music, especially new music," said PD Sarah Kay. "I am excited to see what she does with this opportunity and to work with her in this new role."
