Steve Rixx Named Program Director for KAYD-FM/Beaumont

Cumulus Media appoints 30-year veteran Country radio programmer and air personality Steve Rixx as Program Director for heritage Country KAYD-FM in Beaumont-Port Arthur, TX, effective May 2. Rixx will also be heard in afternoons from 3-7pm on co-owned Country KYKZ-FM (KYKZ 96) in Lake Charles, LA and KBCY-FM in Abilene. Most recently, Rixx was Operations Manager and Program Director for Country KSAM-FM and Classic Hits KHVL (The Lake 94.1 & 104.9) in Huntsville, TX.

Rixx started his radio career in his hometown of Lufkin, TX, at Country stations KYKS-FM (Kicks 105) and KJCS-FM (103 The Bull) and at Classic Rock KTBQ (Q107) in Lufkin. He then moved to Country KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull) in Houston, where he was on-air in middays and afternoons.
