iHeartMedia is ending its simulcast of Metro Radio Group's Sports KREF-AM and K257DA (1400 The Ref) in Norman, OK on 100kW KREF-FM in Oklahoma City. The move comes on the two year anniversary of its launch. The simulcast of KREF's programming will continue on iHeartMedia's KTBZ (1430 The Buzz) in Tulsa, Mollman Media's KKRX (1380 The Ticket) in Lawton and Wright Broadcasting System's KCLI-AM and K247CO (The Score) in Clinton-Weatherford.

In a Facebook post, KREF announced the move, but did not indicate what the new format will be. "As iHeart leadership has chosen to no longer be a KREF affiliate we appreciate heart for their affiliation. KREF has added thousands of new listeners as evidenced by the 425% growth on the KREF app over the last two years. Fear not, our commitment to bringing you the best coverage of the sooners remains stronger than ever. Keep listening to the "Home of Sooner fans" by downloading the KREF app now."
