WTMJ/Milwaukee host Jeff Wagner, who airs daily from noon to three, will retire from the Good Karma Brands News/Talk outlet at the end of this year. His last show will be on December 15. Wagner's 25-year career spanned from the tragic events of September 11th to the Covid pandemic and everything in between. He started as a part-time host at WTMJ in the summer of 1998 and began hosting a full-time show in early November of that year.
Wagner said, "No show runs forever, and it has been an honor and a pleasure to host a daily radio talk show in my hometown for a quarter century. I am extremely grateful to Good Karma Brands, my teammates (past and present), our partners, and most importantly, our fans for all their support over the years. While I'm excited to see what comes next, I will truly miss the daily interaction with listeners about the issues of the day."
Good Karma Brands/Milwaukee Market Manager Greg Scalzo said, "Jeff is a broadcasting legend whose daily wisdom and dedication to the station was felt by our audience throughout his entire career. His retirement marks the end of an era, and we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind."
Before joining WTMJ, Wagner was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and later an attorney in private practice. His show regularly emphasized local issues, including crime, the economy and state and local politics.
The station will announce plans for the open timeslot later this year.
