Meruelo Media's KLOS-FM/Los Angeles set rock radio's single station fundraising record, raising $1.28 million in only 26 hours. The 7th annual fundraiser took place Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16 from 6am-7pm. KLOS' air talent pulled legions of listeners during the 26 hour on-air and online event benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Local businesses, celebrities and community leaders are encouraged to join 95.5 KLOS and become "Partners in Hope."
KLOS Program Director Keith Cunningham said, "This is our 7th year partnering with St. Jude and each year we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support by KLOS listeners. We are proud to share that listeners set the rock radio fundraising record for a single station raising over $1.28 million for the kids fighting cancer at St. Jude."
He added, "There are children who suffer from lifethreatening illnesses, and we try to make a positive and healing difference for these children and their families. It's important to know that St. Jude patients and families never receive a bill from St. Jude for the cost of treatment, travel, housing, or food.
