Mike ''Sandman'' Sanders Joins WZZK/Birmingham as PD

SummitMedia names 30-year radio vet Michael Sanders (McClellan) as the new Program Director and air talent for Country WZZK-FM in Birmingham, AL. Most recently, he worked at Midwest Communications' WJXA (Mix 92.9) in Nashville, where he spent nearly five years as an air personality and talent coach. Prior to that, he was Program Director for Saga's WVVR, WRND and WQEZ in Clarksville, TN, with stops in Jacksonville, Charlotte and Denver.
"WZZK has always been that beacon of light on the horizon for me, and now I have the privilege of being a part of it. The enthusiasm is tangible, and I can't wait to dive in," said Sanders. "It feels like a full circle radio moment for me, as my radio journey started down the road at the University of Alabama."

Sanders is a University of Alabama graduate and a member of the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
