RADIO ONLINE | Friday, November 22, 2024 |
77WABC in New York has announced its annual 10,000-Turkey Giveaway, a community initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity during the holiday season. In partnership with AARP New York, Gristedes and D'Agostinos Supermarkets, and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, the giveaway will distribute 10,000 turkeys to families in need -- 5,000 before Thanksgiving and the remaining 5,000 before Christmas and the Holiday Season.
The event kicks off at 10am on Monday, November 25, with a turkey distribution at St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church, located at 239 W 49th St. in Manhattan. Prominent figures, including John and Margo Catsimatidis, Curtis Sliwa, Sid Rosenberg, and other WABC personalities and local celebrities, will hand out turkeys from the 77WABC Trolley.
"WABC Radio is an emergency broadcast station, a responsibility that extends to helping people in the greater New York City community year-round," said Red Apple Media and WABC Owner John Catsimatidis. "Working with AARP New York and The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, we are bringing much-needed help, and hopefully joy, to those in our community who are in need and deserve happiness and a good meal for the holiday season."
